Tasglann Nan Eilean Siar (Hebridean Archives)

Tasglann nan Eilean Siar is the archive service of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. It exists to identify, collect and permanently preserve the records of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and its predecessor authorities, and to make these available to the widest extent possible for research, education or enjoyment.

We also care for, and make accessible, the archives of organisations, businesses, estates or individuals connected to the Western Isles which have been gifted or deposited.

Based in the new facility at Lews Castle, the Archives service continues to build on the foundations laid by the Tasglann nan Eilean Siar project.

For more information contact us at or via our Contact Us page, or see our Tasglann Blog for latest news.
