1 November 2011 Ready for Winter
In Scotland the Red Cross, in partnership with the Scottish Government, is launching a Ready for Winter week (24-30 October). They are promoting a simple message: spend a little time now gathering some essential items in a handy bag, and you’ll be prepared if sudden bad weather means you get stranded at home or – even worse – while on the move.

The Red Cross will be visiting Tesco stores throughout Scotland during the week, giving away special ‘grab bags’ in which to store your emergency kit – and also providing a few handy items. They will be in Stornoway on Tuesday 1st November, 10.30am to 6pm.
