Information Group
The Western Isles Community Planning Information Group works
to support the Community Planning Partnership by developing
information sharing and research amongst partner organisations
to inform the development and monitoring of the Western
Isles Community Plan. The main partners to date include:
Other partner agencies will be encouraged to join or assist
the work of the group as the work progresses and specific
needs arise.
The role of the Group
The WI Community Planning Information Group seeks through
information sharing to pool expertise and data resources
of partner agencies that will support the work of the Western
Isles Community Planning Partnership and its strategic forums.
The group will concentrate on providing a focal point for
accessing existing partners data. Additionally the group
will assist in identifying new information requirements
of the CPP and its strategic forums and thereafter to offer
advice and where feasible analysis services.
The group aims to do this through a range of work that may
include:
- Development of a Community Planning web portal collating
together links to existing partner information and datasets.
- Compilation of a directory of partner datasets and research/statistical
reports with details on how to access such data.
- Maintain an agreed dataset of Community Planning indicators.
- Joint analysis work on mutually beneficial areas
