Creative Industries

Introduction

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Highlands and Islands Enterprise have developed a strategy to support the economic development of businesses in the creative industries.

The ‘creative industries’ are an important driver for economic growth. The environment, culture and heritage of the Outer Hebrides inspire a creative energy and production which makes a significant economic contribution to the islands. Key sectors include arts, crafts, film, and television, publishing, and new media.

The Outer Hebrides Creative Industries Strategy sets out the approach that Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and Highlands and Islands Enterprise will take to supporting the continued growth of the creative industries sector.
