Exchequer Services
Exchequer Services aims to deliver the following services with a customer focused, accurate and prompt service to our tax payers, claimants, colleagues and external clients.
The Benefits section receives, assesses and pays claims for Housing and Council Tax Benefit. We provide advice on claiming Housing and Council Tax Benefit and also give advice about claiming other related Welfare Benefits.
The Revenues and Non Domestic Rates sections ensure that local taxpayers are properly billed and that all debts are properly accounted for.
The Debt Recovery Section ensures that all debts are pursued and recovered. Ensuring that customers are courteously and efficiently assisted in paying their debts and in seeking advice on Revenues matters.
The Payments Section handles payment of all Employees, Members and Suppliers of goods and services to the Comhairle.
We also provide a comprehensive and efficient business and resource management service to the Finance and Corporate Resources Department, and contribute to a wide range of corporate and departmental initiatives.
