HHP welcomes record £6.6 million Scottish Government grant for building new Western Isles homes

Hebridean Housing Partnership (HHP) has welcomed today’s announcement by the Scottish Government of a £6.6 million grant for building affordable homes across the Western Isles.

HHP Chief Executive Angus Lamont said, “This unprecedented grant is good news for the Western Isles, in particular for tenants and for jobs, and is a vote of confidence in HHP as we move forward to develop much needed homes for rent across the Isles.”

The announcement was made today by the Minister for Housing and communities, Alex Neil, who commented, “The budget of £6.6 million represents a major investment in affordable housing in the Western Isles. This will make a huge difference for many people and their families in the area to get decent homes they can afford.”
