The Curracag Wildlife Photographic
The 7th Annual Amateur Photography Competition presented by Curracag The Western Isles Natural history Society. Competition Entry forms available from Dana MacPhee, Museum nan Eilean, Sgoil Lionacleit, Benbecula. Tel. 01870 602864. The exhibition of entries is always a popular show.

| 1st February - 1st March 2003 | Celebrating Scotland's Crafts
This travelling exhibition supplied by the National Museums of Scotland highlights a range of crafts distinctive to Scotland. These crafts which were once part of the ordinary pattern of everyday life, are shown in their contemporary setting. Amongst the crafts featured are basket making, knitting with examples from Eriskay and Shetland; tweed and highland dress; crafts relating to the land and to sport; crooks and sticks, shinty, curling and golf. |
| 7 December 2002 - 25 January 2003 | St Kilda Relieved - A Story in Pictures
The exhibition reveals the story of a 'mercy mission' to St Kilda mounted by the Daily Mirror in the Spring of 1912, recorded by Dr Taylor through his observations as attending physician and includes the commentary made by the Daily Mirror journalist and photographer that accompanied the relief tug 'Victor' from Glasgow to St Kilda. |

The Celtic role in North Atlantic exploration as reflected in the immrama, the 'voyage literature', the Norse expansion westward (Faroes, Iceland, Greenland, Vinland) and the role of the Hebrides and earlier Celtic activity in this expansion. |

Art & Design Diploma Exhibition. Students final show of work from the successful Art & Design Diploma Course run by Colaisde Bheinn na Faoghla. For a third year running, the diploma class of 2000-01, present their coursework for display to the public. This show is rapidly becoming a fixture in the art calendar as it offers the opportunity to purchase new artwork and review the talents of the Diploma students. A visit to this exhibition is encouraged if you are interested in pursuing a further education course in art & design. |

Miss Shand Exhibition (Working Title). A glimpse of the work engineered in the Western Isles by Miss Shand and her early enterprise through Highland Home Industries. A Beoshlaintean Exhibition Group Exhibition.

Thusa agus Maodalan. A life size children's storybook telling a story in Gaelic of greedy 'Maodalan' and his attempt to eat all the berries. An interactive .3-D display based on a traditional West Highland tale updated by Lewis writer John Murray. This colourful storybook was first enjoyed by children in 1991. However, the magic is still alive for a new audience in 2001.
