We say farewell to the Lewis Chessmen

Come and say goodbye to the Lewis Chessmen at Museum nan Eilean on Monday 12th September, 10am - 5pm. There will be music, poetry, storytelling and song throughout the day.

To celebrate that over 21,000 visitors have enjoyed and marvelled at the beauty and the intricacy of the Lewis Chessmen this summer, engaged with the story of their discovery on the Isle of Lewis in 1831, and learnt more about their origins in the context of the Viking World – we have a full programme of music and storytelling for you.

A.M.: Relax with the magical tones of Daisy Nash playing the clarsach.

P.M.: Enjoy traditional Scottish  tunes with musicians David and Debbie Nash.

ALL DAY:

Chrisella Ross will inspire you with tales of magic and mystery from the Viking and Scottish world.
