The Chairman of the Education and Children’s Services Committee of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar today congratulated the Nicolson Institute Senior Girls Football Team, who have made it through to the Scottish Cup Final, matching the achievement of the boys senior team last year.

The Scottish Senior Girls Cup Final will be played at Ross County’s Victoria Park Football Ground in Dingwall on Monday, 25th April at 1.00pm when The Nicolson Senior Girls take on the Senior Girls of St Augustine’s High School, Edinburgh. The Nicolson Senior Girls will also be trying to make this a ‘six wins in a row’ outcome on Monday. This record is testimony to the skill and dedication of pupils and staff.

Mr MacDonald said “this is a fantastic achievement and, irrespective of Monday’s result, I will ensure that the Comhairle recognises it in a tangible way. In the meantime I wish the girls well on Monday as they represent the school and indeed the Western Isles”.
