No Poll Card Required 3 May 2005

The Returning Officer for Na h-Eileanan an Iar is reminding voters that they do not need a poll card in order to vote on Thursday as long as they are on the electoral register.

Bill Howat said: "As long as you are registered you are free to vote whether or not you have a poll card when you go to the polling station. I would also take the opportunity to encourage people to use their vote on Thursday".

Mr Howat also reminded postal voters that their ballot paper must be with the Returning Officer by the close of poll - 10pm on Thursday. Postal ballot papers can be returned at polling stations.
