Call For Greater Transparency From Health Board

The Chairman of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Social Work Committee has called for greater transparency from Western Isles NHS.

The statement follows a meeting of the Social Work Committee at which it was claimed there was confusion amongst the public over future plans for health services in the Western Isles.

Mr. Murdo Macleod said: “The Health Board need to be absolutely transparent in their actions and proposals to avoid confusion amongst the public. Councillors were expressing the concerns of the public that there may be threats to services. We have a meeting arranged with the Health Board and I look forward to discussing a range of issues including long term relationships and communications between the Health Board and the Comhairle”.
