Blue-Green Algal Bloom At Loch Lacasdail

29 November 2005

Environmental Health officers have warned that there is a blue green algal bloom in Loch Lacasdail, on the road to Scalpay, just past Urgha.

Swallowing the water or algal scum can cause stomach upsets or more serious health effects and people should keep away from the water and keep animals away.

Notices have been posted at the loch.
