Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has issued a statement to correct a newspaper report which stated that the day care service at Ardseileach was to be relocated to the Western Isles Hospital. There are no proposals to undertake such a move.

The Social Work Department has been in discussion with NHS Western Isles about the provision of temporary accommodation for people living in Ardseileach Residential Unit during a major refurbishment of the home which is scheduled for next year. The residents and their families have been kept fully informed of this.

The Comhairle regrets that the recent newspaper report about day services may have created worry and uncertainty among users of the day services and their families.
