Consumer Warning: door to door salesmen and charity collectors

Consumers in the Western Isles are warned to be on their guard regarding door to door salesmen and charity collectors.

The move cames after a number of complaints from residents in the Islands to the Comhairle's Trading Standards section.

The Comhairles Trading Standards Officers and Officers from the Northern Constabulary are advising the public to check callers' identification to ensure they are from a genuine charity, and if concerned to contact Stornoway Police on 01851 702222.
