The result of the Port of Ness By Election held on the 27th of July 2006 was as follows.

Annie Macsween 177 votes
Katy Mary Mackenzie 126 votes

There were no spoilt papers.

The turnout was 50.4%

Annie Macsween was duly elected to serve as the Member for the Port of Ness ward.
