Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has congratulated the Nicolson Institute Under-15 boys team on their success in winning the Scottish Cup.

 

The Nicolson boys defeated Lasswade Academy 2-1 and became the first team from the Islands to win the Cup.

 

Convener Alex MacDonald said: “This was a magnificent achievement and the boys deserve praise for their efforts. I wish them every success for the future”.

 

Vice-Convener Angus Campbell added: “Young people from the Islands continue to excel at sports and this latest achievement brings credit on the boys themselves and on the Islands. Well done!”

 

Tribute will be paid to the team’s achievement at the next meetings of the Comhairle.
