Happy Birthday Stornoway Library!
Stornoway Library is celebrating its 10th birthday in Cromwell Street with a programme of celebratory activities. On Friday 20th March there is a day of birthday fun and everyone’s invited.
The party starts with a lively birthday Bookstart Rhyme Time for our youngest readers at 10.30 a.m.
At 11.15 Councillor Annie Macdonald will cut a celebration cake. Library customers and old friends can enjoy some tea and cake.
In the afternoon at 2.00 p.m. there will be an hour of a special edition ‘The Local History File’ with Norrie Macgregor, Frank Thompson and Malcolm Macdonald (to be recorded and broadcast by Isles FM).
This will be followed by a live performance by a young musicians’ group.
Other activities include:- A fun general knowledge quiz for all ages
- Lots of little things for children to do in the library and to take home with them
- A free cup of tea or filter coffee in the Library Café
New!
Don’t miss the new Bookstart Rhyme Times at Stornoway Library – a great opportunity for parents, babies and toddlers to relax with stories, rhyme and rhythm. Look out for the poster in the library or ring the library to find out when the next one is.
