Algal Toxins 10 July 2006

Environmental Health officers have warned that there is a raised level of algal toxins occurring in Loch Leurbost at present. Eating shellfish such as mussels, scallops, or cockles from the loch may pose a risk to human health. It is a sensible precaution to avoid eating shellfish from the loch until further notice. Notices are being posted in the area.
