Press Release - 2nd June 2014

Still Time for Hebridean Photographers to Get Snapping!

There is still chance to get one of your photos included in the Eileanaich gallery of the new museum and archive.  We’ve extended the closing date for our competition to 23 June 2014 to give even more people the opportunity to enter.

What do we want? Images of people!  People doing stuff inside or outside, working, eating, playing, laughing, wrestling, or along beaches – be creative and surprise us!

Winning images will be displayed in the new museum currently being built next to Lews Castle in Stornoway.  Prizes include a workshop with a professional photographer for the prize winner.  Runners up will receive gift vouchers.

6 Winners will be selected from the following age groups:  10-15 years, 16-25 years, and over 26s.

To enter, you must be an amateur photographer resident in the Outer Hebrides and your image must be taken somewhere in the Western Isles.  Please make sure that the subjects in your photo know that their picture is being taken!  The closing date is now 23 June 2014.

Entry forms can be downloaded at or email
