Sgiobaidhean Iar-Chuairt Deireannach Deasbad Naiseanta Gàidhlig 2017 Air An Ainmeachadh

B’ ann aig e-Sgoil ann an Steòrnabhagh a ghabh a’ chiad agus an dàrna cuairt de Dheasbad Nàiseanta nan Sgoiltean àite air Dimàirt agus Diciadain an t-seachdain-sa. Bha dùbhlan mòr mu choinneamh na britheamhan; Iain Stephen Moireasdain, Cairistiona Walker agus Aonghas Dòmhnallach.  Ach chaidh aca air sia-deug sgioba a lùghdachadh sìos gu ceithir sgiobaidhean.  Is iad na sgiobaidhean a thèid troimhe chun na h-iar chuairtean deireannach: Sgoil MhicNeacail A, Àrdsgoil Gheàrrloch, Àrdsgoil Lochabair agus Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu. 

‘S ann aig Cidhe Phacific, togalach a’ BhBC ann an Glaschu a bhios na h-iar chuairtean deireannach a’ gabhail àite aig 6.30f air Dimàirt 28 Samhain 2017.  Thèid a’ chuairt mu dheireadh a chumail ann am Pàrlamaid na h-Alba an oidhche an dèidh sin, Diciadain 29 Samhain agus bi seo ri chluinntinn beò air BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.

Chaidh na cuspairean a thoirt do na sgiobaidhean agus bidh Sgoil Ghàidhlig Ghlaschu a’ deasbad an aghaidh Àrdsgoil Lochabair.  ‘S e an cuspair air am bith iad a’ deasbad ‘Thathas a’ toirt cus àite dha spòrs anns an dùthaich seo.” Bidh Sgoil MhicNeacail A an aghaidh Àrdsgoil Gheàrrloch agus iad a’ beachdachadh air a’ chuspair “Feumaidh sinn gabhail ris gu bheil fiosrachadh mionaideach mu ar deidhinn gar cumail sàbhailte agus fallain ann an saoghal an latha an-diugh.”  Bidh an sgioba a bhuannaicheas Deasbad A an aghaidh an Sgioba a bhuannaicheas Deasbad B agus bidh a’ deasbad air a’ chuspair “Bu chòir Glaschu ainmeachadh mar phrìomh bhaile na h-Alba seach Dun Èideann.”

 


Semi Finalists Announced For The 2017 National Gaelic Schools’ Debate Competition

The e-Sgoil building in Stornoway was the setting for the first two rounds of the National Gaelic Schools’ Debate which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday the 7th and 8th of November.  The judges; Iain Stephen Morrison, Christina Walker and Angus MacDonald, certainly had their work cut out whittling sixteen teams down to four.  The four teams who have reached the semi-final stages of this year’s competition are: The Nicolson Institute A, Gairloch High School, Lochaber High School and Glasgow Gaelic School.

The first semi-final draw sees Glasgow Gaelic School battle against Lochaber High School with their topic being "Too much recognition is given to sport in this country."  In the second debate of the evening the Nicolson Institute A will face Gairloch High School to debate "We have to assume that detailed information about us keeps us safe and healthy in today’s world."  

The winner of Debate A will face the winner of Debate B in the final on the topic “Glasgow should be named as Scotland’s capital city instead of Edinburgh."

The semi-finals will be held at the BBC’s Pacific Quay building in Glasgow on Tuesday the 28th November 2017 at 6:30pm . The Final will be held the following evening in the Scottish Parliament and will be broadcasted live on BBC Radio nan Gàidheal.
