Comhairle nan Eilean Siar PRESS RELEASE 11 April 2000 For Use: Immediately

Following the success of last year’s initiative, the Comhairle has allocated another £30k for the provision of hanging baskets and floral displays this summer. Commenting on the decision, Vice Convener, Councillor Roddy Murray, said:

"I am very pleased that once again the Comhairle has been able to support this initiative and in fact to increase its level of support. There can be no doubt about the success of last year’s displays, they made an enormous difference to the appearance and amenity of the area and I am sure that this year will be even better".
