As part of its ongoing commitment to the promotion and development of the Gaelic language the Comhairle is to stage a second ‘Gaelic Day’ on Friday, 21 April. All staff will be encouraged to use Gaelic that day and there will be full programme of events, including poetry recitals, traditional singing, a Gaelic debate and a religious service in Gaelic to which members of the public are invited.
Commenting on the programme, Councillor Donald M. Mackay, said:
"We have tried to ensure that there is something for everyone. It is vitally important that the Comhairle take the lead in promoting and developing the Gaelic language and I am sure that staff will take part in what will be both an educational and enjoyable day".
