Comhairle nan Eilean Siar PRESS RELEASE 19 May 2000 For Use: Immediately

Scallops from Loch Roag have tested positive for Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar confirmed today.

Commercial scallop fishermen and processors are being notified and the loch is being closed for the marketing of scallops.

Notices are being put up to warn against the consumption of shellfish from the Loch.
