Speaking today, the Chairman of Transportation, Cllr. Norman A. Macdonald, said:
"This is good news for the Western Isles. Today's announcement goes a long way to putting in place the necessary funding for the long awaited and essential task of building a modern and well equipped air terminal for Stornoway. The Comhairle will now play a full role in exploring the options with HIAL, the Scottish Executive and other public agencies in terms of securing the necessary money to bridge any remaining funding gap."
