Licensees Urged To Comply With Conditions

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is determined to ensure that licensees in the second hand car business and street trading comply with the conditions attached to their licences.

Recent cases dealt with by the Comhairle have resulted in licenses only being granted for a short period and those who do not comply with the conditions run the risk of losing their license altogether.

Cllr. Donald Nicholson, Chairman of Environmental Services, said: "These requirements are there for the protection of the public and we have a duty to ensure that the conditions of a license are being met. It is only fair on the vast majority of license holders who do make the effort to comply with their obligations that measures are taken against those who do not"
