Fishing Tragedy

Following the sad loss of the 15-metre-long crab boat, MFV Louisa, which sank off the Outer Hebrides in the early hours of Saturday morning, the Leader of Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Angus Campbell, said: “The loss of these fishermen is a tragedy. Communities across the Islands will be thinking of the families and friends of those who have lost their lives. Our thoughts and condolences go out to them."

Today, Urras Eachdraidh Uibhist a Deas (UEUD) has received £91,726 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for an exciting project, Eachdraidh Easgaidh – Building on our active Heritage, at Kildonan Museum, Isle of South Uist. Led by volunteers from the local community the project, totalling over £800,000, will redevelop Taigh-Tasgaidh Chill Donnain to include an extension to the Museum and internal and external improvements to the site.
