Real Nappy Week - 24 June Stornoway
As part of Real Nappy Week 2005 (June 20-26), now in its ninth year, Waste Aware Western Isles held the first Real Nappy Fashion show in the Caberfeidh Hotel, Stornoway. The event was aimed at raising awareness of issues surrounding the waste created by the use of disposable nappies and the benefits of using a cloth alternative. A Health Visitor from Western Isles NHS Board was also on hand for part of the afternoon to answer any health related questions with regards Real Cloth Nappies. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the fashion show where 21 children aged between 1-3 years walked or crawled down a red carpet modeling a large range of Real Nappies, definitely some candidates for the future catwalks of Milan!
There were also samples of the range of Real Nappies available on the market and Real Nappy products available for sale on the day. Anyone who would like further information on Real Cloth Nappies can phone the Waste Aware Helpline on 01851 709900.
