Schools Collect Large Amounts Of Milk Tops For Recycling
Pupils in Western Isles Schools have continued to show their support to local business ‘Stornoway Plastics’ as well as to local charities and the Environment, by collecting their plastic milk bottle lids.
Participating schools have gathered amazingly large amounts of milk bottle tops throughout the school year which is fantastic. All the milk tops are passed onto Stornoway Plastics to be recycled into products for the fishing industry, so not only are the children helping to reduce waste from Landfill, but they are also helping to source and provide valuable material for new items to be produced on the Island. All monies raised from the milk tops are donated to local charities so everyone benefits!
