2nd Stornoway Cubs

Marina from the Waste Aware Team was invited along to the 2nd Stornoway Cubs to help them with their Environmental Badge. The group had already undertaken two beach clean ups in the Castle Grounds where they recycled some of the materials they collected. After a short talk about recycling in the Western Isles the Cubs were split into 5 teams to play the “Sort It” game. The winning team were the Recyclers with full marks but as all the Cubs were so enthusiastic and were working hard towards their Environmental Badge they all received the prize – a Waste Aware pencil case made out of recycled rubber tyres! The Cubs were very interested in the recycling touch screen games which Marina had brought with her and also the wind up solar powered radio which doesn’t need batteries. All the Cubs thought this would be a great item to have when they go camping!
