Saturday 15th July
It was a beautiful sunny day for the Waste Aware road show’s visit to the Lewis Highland Games this year.
The Waste Aware team had an extra team member this year, Morag Stuart, a Marketing Degree student, who is spending the summer months helping the team and undertaking some survey work.
Morag will be asking visitors to the mobile unit to complete a questionnaire on recycling, which will help the team establish views on recycling and the campaign in the Western Isles. Everyone who completes a questionnaire receives a real cloth bag or a notebook made out of recycled rubber tyres and paper and entered into the prize draw for a wind up and solar powered radio.
Nearly 200 people visited the unit this year, so it was a very busy day for the team. Thank you to everyone who visited the road show and also to the organisers of the Lews Highland Games for allowing us to attend the event.
