Q&A Session at Carinish School – 2 May 2007
The new Waste Aware Officer in Uist was invited to visit Mrs Black’s upper primary class as they had started a new project about the environment and reducing our impact on it. They have already started to turn out lights when they’re not needed and to use both sides of all paper. They have also had a talk from SEPA and an exemption so that they can shred all their paper for animal bedding. Caitriona gave them more ideas including starting to use the school organic bins as well as their own compost heap and talked about how to recycle their cans and plastics.
