The Waste Aware Officer was invited to help out at the After School Club for Primary 1-3 as they were involved in a new topic – art from recycled materials.  In the first week they made treasure chests using old boxes which they covered in old newspapers and painted in bright colours.  The second week was very busy and the group worked very hard to make both picture frames made from cardboard boxes plus Valentine’s Day cards decorated with scrapped magazines and catalogue.  The artwork was very impressive and showed that you can reuse a wide variety of materials to be creative.
