Sharon travelled down to Tolsta Primary to teach the children about Reducing, Reusing and Recycling their waste. They were amazed at all the new things that could be made out of “rubbish” that they would normally throw away in the bin. Some couldn’t believe that plastic is used to make fleeces!
Sharon also explained to the pupils how important it is to put the correct waste into their Organic bin at home. They are now going to make sure that no glass or plastic is thrown into this bin, so it won’t break the machines at the Creed Recycling Plant or end up in the compost! They said they will tell their mums and dads that it is only paper, cardboard, food scraps and garden waste that is to go into the organic bin.
