NATIONAL AWARD FOR BALALLAN SCHOOL
Balallan School in Lewis has been rewarded for their recycling efforts in the Yellow Woods Challenge 2007, where they collected a massive 588 Yellow Pages.
The school has won the 'Most Improved School' award in the UK finals of the 2007 Challenge which is a tremendous result. The Balallan pupils clinched the title with an impressive increase in the average number of directories collected per pupil, from 5 directories in 2006 to 18 directories in 2007.
For their achievement, they were presented with a certificate, £100 book tokens and a top prize of £1000!
