Tolsta Primary School
Navy Day

While on a visit to Stornoway with Navy Recruiting Officer A. Macgilvary. Rhona Gillies, a former pupil of Tolsta School, stopped off to give a presentation to the pupils about her life in the Navy. Nineteen year old Rhona is the daughter of Christine and Billy Gillies formerly of Niaroo, North Tolsta. Her maternal grandmother was Kennag Macmillan of 6 North Tolsta.

The children enjoyed her presentation and most of the boys thought that a career in the Royal Navy would be very exciting! Rhona is shown below with Heather - a current pupil who lives at Rhona's former home Niaroo!
