Permanent Foster Carers
These carers provide long-term/permanent care. They are approved as Longterm/Permanent Foster Carers and may be presented to the Adoption/Permanency Panel for approval, and for approval of a ‘match’ with a specific child. The suitability of the placement continues to be reviewed regularly. If ‘adoption’ becomes the plan for the child, the suitability of the placement as the child’s permanent substitute family will be considered, and the placement continues to be reviewed, until such a time as an Adoption Order may be made.
