Mock Accident Raises Awareness
Fire Engine
On behalf of the Community Safety Partnership the Stornoway Emergency Services participated in a mock road accident scene in the town centre. The primary objective is to raise awareness of road safety to the public.
Representatives from Northern Constabulary, Highland and Islands Fire and Rescue Service, the Scottish Ambulance Service and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar were in attendance to highlight the dangers on Western Isles' roads.
Pupils from the Nicolson Institute took part in a road safety awareness day at Stornoway Town Hall. The event was very successful and demonstrated to the pupils, whom many are learning how to drive, how to have a greater awareness of road safety and how to reduce the risks on roads.
