Townscape Heritage Initiative

Property Grants Scheme

Projects

All the potentially eligible properties in the focus area were identified before the Project commenced. The properties were grouped in 3 groups as an assessment of townscape importance with the aim of targeting the most significant buildings first.

Over 20 grants have been agreed and contracted in just a little over 3 years of the Project. No further projects can be undertaken as the deadline for applications is now past. All work has to be completed by the end of the Project in 2012.

Some projects have been quite small whilst others have been more substantial but all have had the objective of repairing/restoring historical/architectural integrity in materials and features. Below is a  selection of projects illustrating the range of work undertaken and the improvements brought about.
