How to get to the Western Isles
By air to Stornoway Airport, Benbecula Airport and Barra Airport
- Flybe operate flights to/from Stornoway, Barra, Benbecula, Inverness, Glasgow, London and other destinations Monday - Saturday. Limited Sunday flights.
- Eastern Airways operate between Aberdeen and Stornoway (Monday-Friday).
Facilities at the airport include car hire, taxis, refreshments and wireless Internet access via BT OpenZone.
Vehicle ferries:
The Outer Hebrides are linked to the mainland by ferries sailing the routes from Ullapool to Stornoway, Uig to Tarbert, Uig to Lochmaddy and Oban to Castlebay and Lochboisdale. There are also inter-island ferries sailing from Barra to Eriskay and Berneray to Harris.
