Bus Services - Concessionary Travel

National Entitlement Card (Scotland)

(NB: Travel Concessions are only available to residents of Scotland.)

If you are over 60, you can apply for a National Entitlement Card at any Post Office. Eligible, disabled customers can apply via their local Social Work Office. For more detailed information about concessionary travel, including the National Entitlement Card and Young Person's schemes, please visit the  Transport Scotland   website.

Over 60 entitlement cards should be renewed automatically. If not, please contact the Comhairle. If your card does not work, a 7-day pass can be issued: you must contact the Comhairle to request that a new card be issued.

If your entitlement card is due to expire and the card was issued on the grounds of disability, please contact your local Social Work Office no less than 14 days before the expiry date. If your card has expired, you must contact your local Social Work Office to request a new one. You will be expected to pay for bus fares until such time as you receive a new card.

Reduced Fares for Young People

Young people aged 16 to 18 are eligible to receive a 1/3 discount on adult single fare journeys on production of a Young Person's Bus Concession card - part of the Young Scot National Entitlement card scheme. Please contact the Comhairle or visit the Transport Scotland  website for more information. For more information about Young Scot bus concessions, please contact the Comhairle. (The Young Scot card offers a range of discounts in shops, restaurant and the use of local authority services for example. For further information visit the  Young Scot  website.)

If an entitlement card does not display a 'C' symbol, or Young Person (YP) branding, no bus fare concession will be offered.
