Application for Pairc Wind Farm

An application for a 205 megawatt, 57 turbine wind farm on the Pairc peninsula, Isle of Lewis, was submitted to the Scottish Executive on 1 June 2007 by Scottish and Southern Energy.

The application will be determined by the Scottish Ministers, and the Comhairle is the Principal Consultee in the process.

The official date for submitting representations to the Scottish Government and the Comhairle has now passed (26 July 2007),   However, the Scottish Government will continue to take representations throughout the process.

The Comhairle considered the development in December 2007 and April 2009 and has recommended to the Scottish Government that consent be granted subject to a range of terms and conditions.

To date no decision has been made by the Scottish Government.
