We asked for your views on the Draft Equality Outcomes 2025-2029.
Feedback was received from one organisation (Hebridean Housing Partnership). No individuals responded to the consultation.
The Equality Outcomes were updated to take account of feedback received through the consultation process. The amended Equality Outcomes and Mainstreaming Report was submitted to the Audit and Scrutiny Committee on 6 February 2025 and were approved by Comhairle on 12 February 2025.
Comhairle employees already monitor a large number of compulsory performance indicators. Feedback suggestions resulting in the duplication of work were not included.
The Equality Act 2010 requires public authorities to publish a set of equality outcomes every four years. Equality outcomes aim to achieve specific and identifiable improvements in people’s life chances, eliminate discrimination and foster good relations. The Comhairle’s draft equality outcomes, as required by The Equality Act 2010, sets out draft outcomes the Comhairle will work to achieve over the period 2025-2029.
The Comhairle is committed to increase equality of opportunity; eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation; advance equality of opportunity; and foster good relations. Therefore, the Comhairle aims to involve people representing all protected characteristics to review and comment on the draft equality outcomes.
We are now asking for your views on the draft equality outcomes 2025-2029. Comments received will be reviewed and the draft plan amended as appropriate. The final draft of the Equality Outcomes 2025-2029 will be presented to Audit and Scrutiny Committee for approval in February 2025.
All comments and feedback on the contents of the draft outcomes are welcomed. If you would like to comment on these draft outcomes you can do this in a number of ways as detailed below.
