If you have a disability that makes travel difficult, you can apply for a Blue Badge that lets you park closer to facilities. You can check if you are eligible for a Blue Badge on the Government website.
Apply or Renew a Blue Badge
There are several categories of disability that can make you eligible for a Blue Badge. Depending on the category you apply under, you will be asked a set of questions about your personal circumstances, your conditions and how they affect your mobility. You will also be required to supply supporting evidence.
You’ll need a recent digital photo showing your head and shoulders.
You’ll also need a photo or scan of your:
- proof of identity (such as a birth certificate, passport or driving licence)
- proof of address (such as a Council Tax bill or government letter)
- proof of benefits (if you get any)
You’ll also need to know:
- your National Insurance number (if you have one)
- the details of your current Blue Badge (if you’re reapplying)
Fees
There is a £20 fee for successful Blue Badge applications and £5.52 charge for the replacement of a lost badge. The fee will be payable on collection of the badge.
