A fun session playing and exploring on Bayble Beach for those in primary school. Please bring suitable beach gear!
Basic Sports
Sessions introduce Primary 1 to Primary 3 school children to basic sports skills like running, jumping, throwing and catching, in a safe fun environment at the Lewis Sports Centre. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Basketball
Sessions encourage Primary 5 to 7 children to develop their basketball skills, using specific drills and games in a fun safe environment at in the Lewis Sports Centre. Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Fun Football and Football Skills (All Weather Pitch, Carloway, Lochs and Point)
Sessions encourage Primary school children to develop their football skills using specific drills and small sided games in a fun safe environment. Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Fun Golf and Skills (Harris and Stornoway)
Sessions encourage Primary 2 to Primary 7 school children to develop their golf skills and learn about the sport of golf. Clubs will be provided at the venues (Stornoway or Isle of Harris Golf Club). Participants bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
ISL Gymnastics
Sessions introduce Primary 1 to Primary 4 school children to the sport of gymnastics developing the core gymnastics skills and learning new gymnastic specific moves in a fun safe environment at the Lewis Sports Centre. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
ISL Sports Activities
Sessions support Primary 6 and Primary 7 children in developing a variety of team and individual sports skills in a fun and safe environment at the Lewis Sports Centre. Participants should bring suitable indoor kit and water.
Mini Kickers
Sessions introduce 3 – 4 year olds (Pre- School children) to basic co-ordination and movement skills used in all sport at the Lewis Sports Centre. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Multi Sports
Sessions encourage Primary 5 to Primary 7 school children to develop a range of different team and individual sports skills in a fun safe environment. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Sports Activities (includes Uig, Breasclete, Leverburgh, Tarbert)
Sessions encourage Primary aged children to develop a range of different team and individual sports skills in a fun safe environment at the local hall or school. Participants must bring suitable indoor kit, and water.
Trail Cycling Festival
Sessions are open to Primary 6 and Primary 7 school children who are competent at using gears and brakes on the up and downhill off-road parts of the Lews Castle grounds. Must be able to cycle minimum 2 miles. Participants must bring suitable outdoor kit, and water. Meet at Stornoway Golf Club car park.
Woodland Explorers (Pre-school)
Explore the fun that can be had in the woodlands with the help of our pre-school specialist! Meet next to the Hub - please note no parking at the hub. Parents/Guardians to remain with children during session.
Woodland Explorers (P1 - P7)
For children to have fun in the woodlands. Build dens, play games, have an adventure, think about survival skills, go on a minibeast hunt - depends on the day and imagination. Aim - Get tired and inspired!
Sailing Taster Session
Aimed at those who would like to see what sailing is all about without committing to a longer course. Participants must be able to swim and should bring a complete change of clothing with them, in case they do just that! They will also need to bring sun cream, lunch, and a drink. This activity is weather-dependent and can sometimes be cancelled last minute, so please make sure the contact number on your booking is up to date. Meet at Cuddy Point.
Sailing Course - Stages 1 & 2
This 5 day course is aimed at those who have tried sailing and know that they like it and want to do more. It aims to take participants from relative novice to confident sailor using the RYA award scheme stages. Participants must attend the full 5 days to achieve the certificate at the end. Participants must be able to swim and should bring a complete change of clothing with them, in case they do just that! They will also need to bring suncream, lunch, and a drink each day.
