Islands Cost Crisis Emergency Fund Due to Close to Applications in One Week

A final reminder for the upcoming closing date for applications to the Islands Cost Crisis Emergency Fund (ICCEF)

The Outer Hebrides Community Planning Partnership (OHCPP) Strategic Anti-Poverty Group is issuing a final reminder for the closing date for applications to the Scottish Government funded Islands Cost Crisis Emergency Fund (ICCEF), which is due to close on Friday 14th March.

A total of £257 thousand of revenue funding is available to support initiatives that are in alignment with the OHCPP’s Anti-Poverty Strategy and will contribute to:

  • reducing the effects of Cost-of-Living pressures
  • increase income from Employment
  • maximise income from social security and benefits in kind
  • reduces drivers of child poverty

Priority will be given to projects that more acutely reduce the impacts of the Cost-of-Living or child poverty directly and/ or contribute to supporting a longer-term strategic approach.

Councillor Angus McCormack, Chair of the OHCPP Strategic Anti-Poverty Group stated:

“This welcome funding from Scottish Government is a recognition of the acute impact that the higher costs of living are having on our Island communities. Through this Fund we hope to be able to support a variety of interventions that contribute to alleviating the multi-drivers of poverty.”

How to Apply

Applications are welcome from all public, private, third sector and community organisations. The fund is now open and applications can be made online on the Comhairle’s website until the closing date on Friday 14th March 2025.
