Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is the only Scottish Council named as a finalist in the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Energy Awards.

The Met Office has issued an amber warning for wind covering the Western Isles from 1pm on Friday 24 January until 6am on Saturday 25 January.
