Statement of Reasons
It is proposed to introduce a temporary prohibition on a left turn manoeuvre as vehicles exit the parking area from the West access road of the Sgoil Lionacleit bus park, each night at the close of the EDF Festival.
The prohibition is in the interest of road safety. The event will have around 2000 people on site including staff and emergency services.
The restriction will allow traffic to flow and avoid congestion where the double track B892, adjacent to Lionacleit School, meets oncoming traffic from the west on the single track road.
The restriction will be introduced from 10pm to 2am on the 25th and 26th July 2025 as pedestrians and vehicles leave the site. Traffic turning right, from Sgoil Lionacleit, will travel easterly to the junction with the A865 with the option to head North or South.
