Blocking and Deleting Cookies

Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. However, you do not have to accept cookies. You can choose to reject or block the use of cookies, and if necessary delete all cookies currently stored on your device. You can find out how to do this by referring to your browser's 'help' option. There is also a wealth of information relating to the management of cookies available by searching the web.

For Google Chrome you can delete cookies by:

  • On your computer, open Chrome
  • At the top right, click More  ⋮
  • Click More tools > Clear browsing data
  • At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time
  • Check the required boxes, e.g., 'Cookies and other site data' and 'Cached images and files'
  • Click Clear data

For Microsoft Edge you can delete cookies by:

  • open Microsoft Edge and go to Settings > Privacy & security
  • under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear
  • Select the Cookies and saved website data check box and then select Clear
