Household Waste Recycling Centres
Latest Update: 15/06/20
Please remember that the Government travel restrictions still apply. You should only visit a Household Waste Recycling Centre when it is absolutely essential for you to dispose of items that cannot safely be stored at home, and you should not visit more than once per week.
To allow us to operate our recycling centres safely, the following rules will be in place:
- Only one vehicle allowed entry to site at any one time.
- To avoid overcrowding, a queuing system will be in operation for vehicles.
- To avoid traffic management issues, there will be a cut-off point for vehicles to queue to enter.
- You may be asked to come back at a different time if the queue becomes too long.
- While queuing, please remain in your vehicle, with your engine switched off while stationary.
- Please follow all signage and verbal instructions from our staff at all times.
- Please have your waste sorted before arriving.
- To maintain social distancing, staff will not be able to help you deposit your waste items, so ensure you only bring what you can manage yourself.
- Please wash your hands before and after attending.
- You must follow the Government guidance on social distancing and stay at least 2 metres apart at all times
If you or anyone else in your household has Coronavirus symptoms, or has been asked to self-isolate, DO NOT attend any of our recycling centres

Bin Collections and Recycling Centres
We’re working hard to keep our bin services running and have put plans in place to allow us to continue to run collections. Staff shortages mean that we may need to prioritise some collections and there may be changes to your collections and our street cleaning services, including some services running late. We’ll update this page regularly with advice and if any services change. We really appreciate your patience and support.
What To Do With Your Waste If You Have Coronavirus Symptoms
If you have symptoms of Coronavirus or live with someone who does, you must store your personal waste, for example used tissues and disposable cleaning cloths, securely within disposable plastic bags. When appropriate, these bags should be removed and placed into another bag and securely tied or sealed and kept separate from other waste. This must be stored for at least 72 hours inside your property before being put in your non-recyclable waste bin. Other household waste can be disposed of as normal.
Recycling and Waste Collections
Please note that while these services are running there may be delays and changes to them. Remember to check this page and Waste Services on Facebook (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) for all the latest updates to confirm if your collections may be affected.

Please note, there will be delays to the delivery of replacement or additional bins, and repairs to existing bins. We will prioritise the delivery of bins to new build properties.
We might experience disruption to some of our bin collections due to staff shortages. Remember to check this page and Waste Services on Facebook (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) for all the latest updates to confirm if your collections may be affected.
Please ensure all waste/recycling containers are presented for collection for 8am as there may be changes to your collection time. Please look out for your neighbours and check they are able to put their bins out.
Due to changes in staff your bins may be collected by a different crew and at a different time. Please make sure your bins are easily accessible and visible for crews. It may be necessary for us to change the location we collect / return your bins from / to.
