Local Child Poverty Action Report

The Outer Hebrides Local Child Poverty Action Report for 2018-19 has now been published jointly by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, The Community Planning Partnership and NHS Western Isles and has been created in conjunction with a number of community partners and service providers.

Section 13 of the Child Poverty (Scotland) Act 2017 requires that, in addition to the National Delivery Plan, each Local Authority and Health Board area jointly prepare and publish an Annual Report and Plan. This Report is known as a Local Child Poverty Action Report and must set out actions undertaken in the reporting year as well as planned actions for the coming year and beyond. The first of these Reports covers the period April 2018 to March 2019 and must be published by 30 June 2019.

The Local Child Poverty Action Report (1.9MB) (Opens in a new window or downloads a file) has been integrated into our Anti-Poverty Strategy and, as well as providing background information and statistical information about poverty in the Western Isles, it sets out key actions that services have committed to, working in collaboration, to address poverty. Progress with these actions will be reported on in the next issue of the Action Report in June 2020.
